Acoustic Silencer SMd40
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
SMd40 silencers are of the mixed type: Reactive-Absorbent. The gas enters a double expansion chamber with a venturi-type coupling device, then passes through an absorption silencer.
DESCRIPTION
The nominal inlet diameter completes the designation of the silencer (P.e. SMd40 DN125).
The inlet mouth can be radial or axial. Output is axial. The body of the silencer is made of steel with a cylindrical shape closed by conical or pumped bottoms.
Maximum working pressure 4900 Pa.
Maximum working temperature 500 ºC.

PROTECTION
The silencer is treated with a high-temperature finish paint.
The silencer is not designed to withstand temperatures and pressures resulting from fuel explosions.

Silencers can be provided with the following optional accessories:
- Flanges and counter flanges.
- Set of gaskets and screws.
- Supports.
- Spark extinction chamber.

ASSEMBLY
- SMd40 silencers.
- The silencers should be installed as close to the engine as possible.
- The direction of flow must be respected.
- Expansion compensator.
- Vertical supports.
- Exhaust manifold.
The fixing system of the silencer must allow the free expansion of the silencer.
